Katie Gardner recently went to Uganda with a team to work with (mostly) kids in internal displacement camps. She taught photography alongside others who were doing long term counseling for those who had been forced to be child soldiers, and medical education. The organization she worked with is instituting long-term care in multiple countries on top of Uganda, primarily focusing on orphans in the surrounding regions.

Her art is evocative, beautiful — the images linger long after you’ve stopped looking.
